Your Travel Options
Flights
We have access to all airlines operating into Greece as well as domestic flights within the country. Airlines that we regularly use are Aegean Airlines, Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2, TUI, Olympic Airlines and Sky Express.
Ferries
You have never experienced true Greek Island Hopping unless you have been through the organised chaos that is Piraeus (Athens Port) during the morning rush hour, with ferries of all shapes, sizes and colours departing for the idyllic islands that stretch out across the Aegean Sea. We can book tickets on all Greek ferry companies so no matter which island you choose, you can be sure that The Greek Specialist will make sure your transportation is seamless.
Accommodation
Greece has to have some of the most varied accommodation in the world. Each island is very distinctive in it's own way and it is impossible to share with you the vast array that is available on each island. Generally, if you want 5 star hotels or all inclusive properties you should stick to the main islands. The majority of the remaining accommodation is usually self catering or bed and breakfast and ranges from 2 star studios and apartments up to luxury villas.
Extras
There are numerous way we can enhance your holiday from upgrading your flights and ferries to business class, booking car hire, arranging tours and even booking restaurant reservations and sunbed reservations (on specific islands). Please ask us for more details.
Please call us on 0115 654 7795 or email [email protected] to discuss all of your Greek holiday options
or you can simply fill in the contact form and we will be in touch.

GREECE AND HER ISLANDS
Greece is a love affair for The Greek Specialist. Our first visit to the country came in 1997 and since then
we have visited over 50 islands, each with their own unique style and flavour but everywhere you go you
experience the 'Filoxenia', locals becoming friends to the stranger.
As each year passes we try to add at least one more island to our visited list (it's our very own bucket list)
and we learn what it has to offer that is different from the others.
Whilst the islands chains all have their very own distinctive features (the Sporades and Ionian islands
are very green and the Cyclades has the picture-postcard whitewashed houses with colourful shutters)
it is true to say that each island has its own particular highlights.
Whilst the ferries are no longer the ramshackle boats that used to race each other across the Aegean Sea
and Athens Airport no longer has the atmosphere that the old airport did, it is still a delight to sit on the
deck of a ferry as the sun goes down, watching the glittering lights of the islands as you pass by.
For us here at The Greek Specialist, we want your own Greek Odyssey to be full of 'kefi' - fun, high spirits
and most of all enjoyable.
So let us guide you through the bewildering choices of Greece and her islands and help you book your
dream Greek holiday.
Greek Island Hopping Holidays. Look at our ideas below or contact us to put your Greek Odyssey into place.
The Idyllic Ionian's are located on the western side of Greece and range from Corfu in the north to Zakynthos in the south. The island group in general is very green as it has higher rainfall in the winter. Choose from Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas, Meganissi, Kefalonia, Ithaca and Zakynthos to complete your Idyllic Ionian trip. Click on the island group name for more information on each of the islands.

Classical Crete is the 5th largest island in the Mediterranean and so there is an abundance of choice. Explore the bustle of Heraklion or the quintessential Chania, or alternatively head to the south coast and the village atmosphere of Loutraki or Chora Sfakion. It is possible to combine different areas of the island to have very different parts of a holiday. Click on the Classical Crete name above for more information on the island. EXAMPLE
There are also a number of places in Greece which although may administratively sit in one of the above categories, don't automatically work with the other locations or are on the mainland. These are our Outstanding Oddballs and include Pelion, The Peloponnese, Astypalaia, Evia, Skyros, Kasos, Karpathos, Thassos, Kythera and Samothraki. For more information on one of these destinations click the Outstanding Oddballs name above.

Click on the island group name for more information on each of the islands. EXAMPLE
There are plenty of opportunities to do Cool City Breaks in Greece. The two easiest cities to do this with are Athens and Thessaloniki with daily flights from the UK. Some people say these are better undertaken out of season when you can explore the cities without the throngs of tourists. We can recommend places to go and visit in both cities to ensure you get the most out of your Cool City Break. Click on the Cool City Breaks name above for more information on both cities. EXAMPLE
