A beachlovers delight..........
68 beaches! For such a small island that is an inordinate amount of beaches – the majority of which are golden sand. In fact so rare is a pebble beach on Skiathos, they do a trip to it.
However sophisticated Skiathos has more to it than just beaches. Many people will recognise the ferry quay from the iconic Mamma Mia film and Skiathos Town, which is a mix match of red roofed houses and stone paved streets provides a variety of nightlife, whether it is a quiet café, lively bar or up to the minute music club along with a plethora of restaurants making the choice so difficult.
The excellent bus service links the town with the majority of the beaches and there are opportunities for day trips to the nearby islands of Skopelos and Alonisos.
Whilst Skiathos is definitely a tourist island, the west coast and interior are unspoilt and still rely on farming, which gives the chance to escape the crowds on the beach should you feel like it.
In all, Skiathos is a definite crowd pleaser!

Chris, Just a note to say a massive thank you for organising a wonderful holiday! We had a lovely time in Skiathos and Skopelos and the accommodation was top notch - especially so in Skiathos! A spacious and immaculate apartment and superb pool and views! We had such an amazing holiday in Skiathos and Skopelos. We loved the hotels and their locations. All went perfectly. Told a lot of people how wonderful your company is... so hope you get some more business from it. The team have booked three very different holidays for me, two for a couple and one for a group of nine. They listened to our requirements and used their expert knowledge of Greece to provide us with several options from which to choose. I found them to be very professional, nothing is too much trouble and they strive to find a good deal. I would not hesitate to recommend them. |
