The epitome of sophistication.............
The most photographed island in the whole of Greece, Santorini is simply visually stunning. Created by a huge volcanic eruption, the water flooded in to create the Caldera, sheer cliffs falling to deep blue seas.
We call Santorini the 'wedding cake' island, as the whitewashed villages cling to the top of the brown cliffs, a little bit like icing on a wedding cake. There is so many choices when it comes to Santorini, from where to stay to the restaurants to eat at or what activities to partake in. To find out the best time to go, read our blog here
Oia is the top end resort on the island with luxury hotels, some of which have been created by converting old cave homes. This is also where the famous Santorini sunset is best seen, although be prepared to queue for a spot.
As you head down the coast, past Imerovigli and Firostefani, you reach the capital Thira. The centre gets incredibly busy when the cruise ships are in port and the narrow streets are filled with jewellers, boutiques and bars and cafe's.
On the south coast of the island, the resorts of Kamari and Perissa have black sand beaches, backed by tavernas and generally are much cheaper to stay at than the villages on the caldera side of the island.
Ideally, you should really try to either arrive or depart by ferry (or take a boat trip) as it is the only way to get those spectacular views as you look up to the villages.

Happy People
The team have booked three very different holidays for me, two for a couple and one for a group of nine. They listened to our requirements and used their expert knowledge of Greece to provide us with several options from which to choose. I found them to be very professional, nothing is too much trouble and they strive to find a good deal. I would not hesitate to recommend them. The business has booked me a few different holidays ranging from 2 weeks away in the sun to City Breaks. They have a great knowledge and understanding of your needs and requirements when booking a holiday. They always try to accommodate your budget and work extremely hard to get you what you're asking for. They have an extremely good knowledge of the Greek Islands and never fail when recommending specific places. I would always recommend the team as they are helpful and professional at all times. |
Fantastic service. I explained what kind of holiday I was looking for and my budget and they came up with different options to choose from. Nothing was too much trouble and the communication was first class. I would definitely recommend and would not hesitate in using this 5 star service again.
