How to get to Ithaca
Flights
Ithaca doesn't have an airport so you would fly into Kefalonia and transfer by road and ferry. There are direct flights into Kefalonia from London Heathrow, Bristol, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Stansted, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Cardiff.

The Legend of Odysseus..........
Legend has it that Ithaca was the birthplace of Odysseus and today it still has that star quality with celebrities such as Madonna and Steven Spielberg being drawn to the island for its quiet, unhurried way of life.
There are so many highlights on the island from the Monastery of Kathara (on the highest point of the island) which gives the most amazing panoramic views all around to the village of Kioni on the northern part of the island which has such distinctive sea colours.
The island also has great beaches - Filiatro, Sarakiniko and Agios Ioannis, all of which offer something different.
The islanders have a tradition of being in the maritime industry and many Greek registered ships today have crew from Ithaca. It is also said that the island has over 1 million olive trees.
The famous poet CP Kavafy once wrote "Ithaca gave you a marvelous journey, without her you would have never set out. Wise you have become and full of experience. Now you will understand what these Ithaca's mean".
