Flights
Ios does not have an airport with the nearest being on Santorini. There are direct flights into Santorini from London Heathrow, London City, Bristol, London Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Stansted, Newcastle and East Midlands.
Ferries
The ferry journey from Santorini to Ios takes approximately 30-60 minutes depending on which boat. Most hotels will pick you up from the port but we will confirm these arrangements when we have made your booking.

The Original Greek Party Island
Ios has a reputation. In the 1960's this was the original hippy island and backpackers used to board the old ferries and sleep on the deck just to get here. Nowadays, the reputation is not really deserved. The island has something to offer everyone from history to modern music and you may be pleasantly surprised by this little island.
You certainly wouldn't get the impression that it was a party island as you arrive on the ferry. The square opposite the ferry quay has a good variety of restaurants and seems quite quiet.
It's the Chora at night which becomes buzzing with young people, in and out of the various clubs and bars. During the day however, it is a dazzling mix of traditional whitewashed houses and blue domed churches. There are also 12 windmills above the town and the ruins of a Venetian fortress.
Mylopotamas is one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Greece, and is quiet until the early afternoon when the clubbers do wake up and head for the beach clubs.
Whether you are after good nightlife with great beaches or a relaxing, laid-back holiday with stunning scenery, the friendly locals will make sure that you don't forget Ios.
Please be aware that due to ferry and flight timings, a stay overnight in Mykonos or Santorini may be required in either direction.
