There is an airport on Chios which has domestic flights from Athens and Thessaloniki as well as connections to a few other islands. We recommend flying via Athens as it has the most connections. Athens Airport has direct flights from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Newcastle, Luton, Edinburgh and Stansted.

Ferries to Chios
There is a daily ferry from Piraeus to Chios, as well as some connections to other islands although these are not daily. If arriving by ferry, we will advise of full details at the time of booking.

Chios is the fifth largest island in Greece, yet one which many people still have not heard of.
With a relaxing atmosphere, Chios is most famous for its mastic, which is an origin protected ingredient, another one of the popular drinks in Greece. Try a Mastihito – a mojito made with Mastica instead of rum.
The island is home to a population of around 53,000 but because of its size you wouldn’t know it.
It has a lot of history, with tales of pirates but also claims to be the birthplace of Homer (who had his Odyssey).
The majority of the accommodation is to be found fairly close to Chios Town, from which villages spring up as you head along the coast.
These villages are now starting to develop as resorts and have delicious tavernas and great beaches.
It is possible to do day trips to the tiny islands of Psara and Oinousses.
With so much to do, the only problem will be deciding what and when!
Please be aware that due to ferry and flight timings, a stay overnight in Athens may be required in either direction.
